Finding a mosque
shouldn't be this hard.

Jamaa is the community-built mosque directory built for Muslims, by Muslims. Rich profiles, real prayer times, adhan notifications — everything Google Maps never gave you.

No spam, ever. Just a heads-up when Jamaa launches in Lagos.

The Problem

Every Muslim has been here.

1

You search. Google returns a pin. The pin has nothing — no prayer times, no Jumuah info, sometimes not even a name.

2

The mosque exists. It just isn't on any platform. Hundreds of masjids across Lagos aren't mapped anywhere.

3

You travel to an unfamiliar area. You need to pray Asr in 40 minutes. You have no idea where to start.

"A significant proportion of mosques globally — particularly across West Africa — don't appear on any mapping platform at all."

Small neighbourhood masjids. Mosques inside compounds. New mosques not yet indexed. They exist. They serve communities. They're just invisible.

What Jamaa Does

Built around the masjid.
Built for the Muslim.

Everything in Jamaa flows from one idea: the mosque is the centre of Muslim community life. The app should reflect that.

Community Mosque Directory

Every mosque — from grand Jumu'ah centres to the small neighbourhood masjid down your street. Built and verified by the community, for the community.

Real Prayer Times

Follow a mosque and get prayer times set by that mosque itself — not a generic calculation. Different mosques use different authorities. Now you can too.

Adhan Notifications

Your phone calls the adhan at the prayer time of your mosque. Not a third-party estimate — the actual time your imam prays.

Qibla Compass

A simple, accurate compass pointing toward the Kaaba. No sign-in required. Works anywhere.

Islamic Calendar

Hijri dates alongside Gregorian. Ramadan, Eid, the days of Dhul Hijjah, Ashura. Voluntary fast reminders for Mondays, Thursdays, the white days.

Three-Tier Trust Model

Every mosque pin carries its trust level — user-added, community-verified, or mosque-managed. You always know what you're looking at.

Trust & Accuracy

You always know what you're looking at.

Community-sourced data requires community trust. Every mosque pin in Jamaa carries a visible trust level — so you can calibrate your confidence in the information.

Mosque Mappers — verified community contributors — can elevate user-submitted pins. And when a mosque creates its own account, it becomes the authoritative source for everything about itself.

Tier 1Community Pin

Any user can drop a pin to mark a mosque. Visible, but clearly unverified — a starting point, not a confirmed source.

Tier 2Mapper Verified

A Mosque Mapper has confirmed this location in person. Community-vetted, trusted data you can act on.

Tier 3Mosque Account

The mosque manages its own profile — prayer times, events, announcements. Authoritative. Direct from the source.

Your phone knows when to pray.

Follow a mosque. Get adhan notifications at the prayer times your mosque actually uses. Not a formula — the real time.
